Occupational therapy for schools

Supporting SENCOs, teachers and pupils across the UK

Supporting children in their school environment

Schools and SENCOs can refer children and young people directly to Sensphere. We offer a range of OT services designed around the school context — from in-class observations to full assessment reports for EHCP. We're used to working alongside school teams and can adapt our involvement to fit your processes.

What we offer schools

School observations

In-school observations to understand how a child participates in their learning environment, with verbal or written feedback.

Assessment reports

Full OT assessment reports suitable for EHCP applications, annual reviews, and school support planning.

Staff consultations

One-to-one or small group sessions with teachers and TAs to share strategies for supporting specific pupils.

EHCP support

Assessment and reports that provide the occupational therapy evidence needed for Education, Health and Care Plans.

How our reports support EHCP applications

Our OT assessments are written to support the needs assessment process. We understand what local authorities and SEND tribunals need and write reports accordingly. A Sensphere report typically includes:

  • Functional assessment of how a pupil manages everyday school activities
  • Sensory processing profile and its impact on learning and participation
  • Fine motor, handwriting and tool-use assessment where relevant
  • Clear, jargon-free recommendations for school and home
  • Reports formatted to meet local authority and SEND tribunal requirements

Get in touch by phone or email. We'll have a brief conversation to understand your needs and discuss the most appropriate pathway.

2

Consent and information gathering

With parental consent secured, we'll gather background information from school records and any existing reports.

3

Observation or assessment

We visit the school setting or carry out a clinic-based assessment, depending on what will yield the most useful information.

4

Feedback and report

We share findings with the SENCO and parents, then provide a written report with clear, practical recommendations.
